James Arthur was on stage when it struck him how his fifth album should sound. A sold-out crowd was singing along to his hits, immersed in the emotion that James could hear in his own voice.
“I always connect with an audience,” says the Middlesbrough-born musician, “but something special happened that night. There was an intensity to my voice, a rawness that the fans could feel. I wanted to capture the same sensation on record. It was my focus for every song.”
Within days of his tour ending in the States, James began sessions with different producers to see who could click with his vision. His final stop was in L.A. with Steve Solomon, with whom he co-wrote his 2016 megahit Say You Won’t Let Go, recently certificated a diamond seller in America, one of only around 100 songs in history to achieve the accolade.

After my grandma died from lung cancer when I was 9 or 8, I forgot, I fell into a deep depression and grief and anxiety and this song, friends, and family helped me get out of it. God works in amazing ways to make amazing people like James and the people in the comments ❤
